Personal Development (Poetry)

is known to improve awareness, spirituality and individuality,

it builds human capital, enhances the quality of life,

and contributes to the realization of your dreams and aspirations;

it is an investment in yourself, an investment in making you a better version of you

therefore, you will no longer silence the voice within you

to make others feel comfortable around you

no longer will you live the life others think you should live,

instead of the life you want to live

from now on, you will pay attention to the signs of the Universe,

how a look and a smirk can tell you everything you need to know about a person from that moment on

this is not a resolution, this is self improvement

this is the land before time, the land before your flaws were posted online for the world to see,

this all goes on internally

from now on, you will respect your fears, flaws and failures

understand them, bathe with them

talk to them, love them through the tough lies,

then send them on their way

whatever you're doing right, keep doing it right

whatever you did wrong, don't do that shit again

trust in the process

have belief like none other

trust in the Almighty, the omnipotent mother

this is not a resolution

to have it all figured out, this is your playground of discovery,

no more shadows of doubt

this is your painting on the wall, your sandbox of secrets

this is your lover on call, your female intuition

from now on, be a better listener to yourself,

and for those who feel their voices are too low to be heard

from now on, protect the rights of those marginalized on the curb,

in your neighborhood, in your city,

in your country and abroad

from now on, protect the children in classrooms

from the nonsense this world is made of

this is not a resolution to have it all figured out

this is simply understanding

there's no more room for shadows of doubt
